September 2003 Hunt Test Report

Our test was a big success... thanks to each of you for your part in it!
Special thanks to Larry and Ginny Dusanek for being FT Sec. and treasurer,
and for working the stakes each day & for the work they still face to file
the NAHRA reports and pay the bills, etc; Tom and Caullie Murphy for being
in charge of the Started/Intermediate equipment and help & for bringing the
trailer and 4 wheeler; Doug Moothart for hauling all the club equipment and
making a lot of it, and working the senior stake both days & cleaning and
repairing the equipment and guns after the test; John Gandy for working the
Senior stake and bringing launchers & taking care of birds; Jim Reeves for
coming JUST to work the Started/Intermediate stake and for bringing Sarah to
help, Cory Klehm for getting the tshirts done and bringing them to the test;
to all of you for bringing items for the raffle and for buying tickets; and
of course to the judges (Ben, Jon, Sheryl, Chuck and Jim) for the very nice
tests; and to Ben's friend, Erin, for helping out in every way that she
could; and to all of you for being so patient and kind to my students who
came to help. They thought the weekend was AWESOME, and enjoyed themselves,
so I think we can get them back!!!

Congratulations to all of you for the ribbons you earned!
Caullie and Tom Murphy qualified Maggie and Ruger in Started BOTH days
Shanna Dillon qualified Ringo in Started BOTH days
Ken Reed qualified Flame in Intermediate BOTH days
John Gandy qualified Bleu in Senior BOTH days
Bonnie Moothart qualified Maxie and Spring in Senior BOTH days
Ken Reed qualified Twister in Senior on Sunday
Bonnie Moothart qualified Ralphie in Started on Sunday

And, to top it off we now have these newly titled dogs!
SR Murphy's Magnum of Walnut Creek (Tom and Caullie Murphy)
SR Murphy's Regal Ruger (Tom and Caullie Murphy)
WR Indian Creeks Angel Fire (Ken and Janine Reed)
MHR Indian Creeks Prairie Twister (Ken and Janine Reed)
MHR WR SR Mac's Sunrise Gold ( Bonnie and Doug Moothart)

And Jim Reeves finished Tramp to SR at Diagonal the first weekend in Sept.
so he is now SR Shadowmyst Supertramp

I overheard John Gandy saying that Bleu and Bear both have in the high 400's
(like 460 or 480) in Senior points. Both are GMHR, but when they reach 1000
points, they will become GMHRCH and will be one of very few dogs to reach
the 1000 point club. You get 20 points for each pass! I think reaching 500
points in our Region is a celebratable accomplishment... so watch out, John.
Cake or ice water???

IMPORTANT: We will have an organizational meeting after pheasant season in
mid January. Right now we do need to set DATES for next year for our
licensed tests.

Send your input: How does May 1-2 and June 12-13 for 2004 look to you?
We could get both tests done then, and skip the problems we have faced in
September with high cover and hunting seasons beginning. I think we could
also expect higher entries. Let me know. We will still have our club
training sessions monthly.
